Physician Grade Chemical Peel

Our skin is the largest organ of the human body and is vulnerable to damage from sun exposure, neglect, and the natural aging process to name a few. Damage to skin can be expressed in many ways as we age including changes in pigmentation, ruptured blood vessels, uneven tone, loss of elasticity, and of course, the dreaded wrinkles. Many of these changes can be corrected, minimized, or stalled through various techniques including lasers, cosmeceuticals, microdermabrasion, and medical grade chemical peels. The biological process behind these treatments is critical for effectiveness since there are many products and procedures that claim to reverse aging skin yet have little in the way of scientific backing.

It is never too late to begin caring for your skin regardless of your age. A good starting place, often considered a gold standard by dermatologists, is a chemical peel in conjunction with microdermabrasion. This is often enough to obtain the desired rejuvenated and healthier looking skin. There are a number of chemical peels from which to choose depending on your particular needs and circumstances. This, in addition to the added benefits of microdermabrasion, will all be discussed in detail during your initial evaluation. You will also be advised on a variety of cosmeceuticals available to help correct your particular skin problems. Additionally, an individual workable maintenance program will be recommended so you can enjoy those initial results for years to come.

The ultimate goal for anyone undergoing chemical peel and microdermabrasion is the promotion of exfoliation through a mild “wounding” of the skin which will allow greater blood and lymphatic flow necessary for cleaning, toning, and reduction of redness. This wounding process in the dermis allows for increased production of collagen which corrects and reverses dermal thinning seen with aging. This will result in the improved toning, texture, and reduce the presence and development of wrinkles.

In summary, by way of controlled wounding and healing we are allowing your skin’s dermis to thicken, thus allowing improved blood flow and delivery of essential nutrients. By forcing the skin to step up its production of collagen you are also allowing greater elasticity thus countering the negative effects of sun exposure and signs of aging.
